For Schools & Teachers
How Vibe Verse Edu protects student privacy in your classroom
School Consent Model
Vibe Verse Edu operates under the FERPA school-consent exception (34 CFR § 99.31(a)(1)). Under this model, the school or teacher acts as the parental consent proxy, authorizing Vibe Verse Edu to collect limited student data solely for educational purposes.
This means Vibe Verse Edu does not collect verifiable parental consent directly from parents. Instead, the teacher's act of creating student profiles and issuing class codes serves as the consent mechanism. Teachers should inform parents that they are using Vibe Verse Edu in the classroom.
How Students Access the Platform
Teacher creates a class
Teacher registers with an adult email and creates a classroom with a unique class code.
Teacher adds students
Teacher creates student profiles with teacher-chosen nicknames, avatars, and visual PINs. Students never enter their own names.
Student enters class code
Student enters the teacher's class code, selects their nickname from the roster, and enters their visual PIN to start playing.
Student plays phonics games
Student practices pronouncing sounds using the microphone. Voice audio is processed in real-time and never stored.
